Why World Cancer Research Fund?

I'm running the London Marathon 2026 – yes, 26.2 miles – and I need your support (and maybe a few snacks). 🏃‍♂️💨🍌

Cancer you picked the wrong family. But we will fight you and we will beat you. In 2026, I'll be running the London Marathon. 

I was accepted by World Cancer Research Fund, a charity fighting cancer head on through life saving research and prevention. I never imagined how personal this mission would become. Just weeks after my acceptance, my family was rocked by the news that my incredible dad (aka ROCK) was diagnosed with Burkitt's Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. A rare, aggressive blood cancer. 

A total shock to all of us. Especially to two little girls who now miss their grandad terrible as he undergoes intensive chemotherapy at UCLH. 

Naively, I never thought cancer would touch our tight-knit family. But it has and now, we fight. One treatment at a time. We believe; we know, life will return to normal. 

Everyday, while we go about our lives, hundreds of thousands of people are battling this brutal illness; young, old and in between. 

How can we help? This is my way; I'll run 26.2 miles. And every single penny I raise will go directly to the World Cancer Research Fund to fund the research that saves lives, prevents cancer and gives families like mine hope. 

So here I am... asking, begging, pleading for your kindness. For your generosity. For a donation, big or small, that will help us get one step closer to a world without cancer.  

Because this is our journey. And we are not alone. We will overcome this. We will beat this together.

REMISSION… 🤍✨

My dad is in remission for his Burkitts Non Hodgkins Lymphoma which is the best news we could ever have hoped for. He does however still have to undergo removal of his thyroid as this is believed to also be cancerous, so on the 13th February he will undergo his operation to have this removed. It feels like one hurdle after another, we hope that this is the last one. 🤍✨
