Why World Cancer Research Fund?

Every day around 1,100 people will hear the words ‘you have cancer’. Over 420 of these cases could have been prevented, that’s a staggering 155,000 people every year. World Cancer Research Fund, are passionate about reducing this number.

As part of an international network of charities, they’ve been funding life-saving research, influencing global health policy and informing the public since 1982.

While society continues to search for a cure, their prevention and survival work helps people to live longer, healthier, and happier lives – free from the devastating effects of cancer. The money I'm raising plays a huge part in keeping this going.

Why I am running the London Marathon

Monday 10th Aug

This year, I will be running the London Marathon in support of the World Cancer Research Fund, in memory of my aunt, who we recently lost to cancer.

Like so many families, ours has been affected by this devastating disease. Losing Deirdre has been incredibly difficult for my family, and taking on the challenge of the London Marathon is my way of honouring her memory while helping to support vital research and education that could make a difference for others in the future.

I would be incredibly grateful for any donation, no matter how small. Every contribution will help the World Cancer Research Fund continue its important work in cancer prevention and research.

Thank you for your support.
