Why World Cancer Research Fund?

Every day around 1,100 people will hear the words ‘you have cancer’. Over 420 of these cases could have been prevented, that’s a staggering 155,000 people every year. World Cancer Research Fund, are passionate about reducing this number.

As part of an international network of charities, they’ve been funding life-saving research, influencing global health policy and informing the public since 1982.

While society continues to search for a cure, their prevention and survival work helps people to live longer, healthier, and happier lives – free from the devastating effects of cancer. The money I'm raising plays a huge part in keeping this going.

Monday 10th Aug
We have our designated 3 runs days a week. But in the background I also do 2 karate sessions a week, 4-5 walks with the boys & a PT strength sessions. So every day is a working towards something day :)

Didn’t feel the best but we smashed out a PB today

First 5k post birth. Pretty chuffed with myself.

Tuesday 4th Aug
Today we hit our first run in the programme. 3.5k under the belt. Bring on tomorrow.

We have hit some runs but my official programming starts Monday. Wish me luck.

Well emotions are running high this morning as I got the email that I will be running for such an amazing charity! 
This will be in honour of my mum who lost her battle this year to bowel cancer. And past away on the day of the marathon this year! 
I feel truly honoured to achieve this and run in her memory whilst raising money for such a great cause
