Why World Cancer Research Fund?
Every day around 1,100 people will hear the words ‘you have cancer’. Over 420 of these cases could have been prevented, that’s a staggering 155,000 people every year. World Cancer Research Fund, are passionate about reducing this number.
As part of an international network of charities, they’ve been funding life-saving research, influencing global health policy and informing the public since 1982.
While society continues to search for a cure, their prevention and survival work helps people to live longer, healthier, and happier lives – free from the devastating effects of cancer. The money I'm raising plays a huge part in keeping this going.

My why
Saturday 24th OctRunning the London marathon has been a bucket list item of mine for years. I’ve applied in the past but was never able to secure a spot. But, Gods timing is always perfect, and I can happily say that on April 25, 2027 I will finally be running the London marathon! More importantly, I am running for a cause that is very personal and close to my heart. I have the joy of running to raise money for cancer research! This is super important to me because in April of this year l was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I had so many questions when I first got diagnosed, and having information, research, and a plan moving forward really helped me navigate and understand what's next. Finishing this race has a lot more weight to it, and running it for those who have battled, are battling, and will battle cancer is super important to me. I’m not only running for me, but I’m running for them.
