My Story - Why World Cancer Research Fund?
On 24th April 2027, I’ll be taking on the London Marathon — a huge challenge, especially as I definitely wouldn’t class myself as a runner!
Like many people, my family has been affected by cancer, so this challenge is about much more than just crossing the finish line. I’ll be running to raise money for World Cancer Research Fund, whose work towards preventing cancer and reducing the number of people diagnosed with this horrible disease is something I really want to contribute too.
Hopefully, the money I raise will play even a small part in helping create a future where fewer of our family members and loved ones have to face cancer.
26.2 miles… training starts now! 🏃♂️💪

Step 1 - Trainers bought!
Sunday 20th Sep
Today felt like a good time to make a start.
With the London Marathon now firmly on the horizon, I headed out to get myself a proper pair of running trainers. Not something I ever thought I’d be doing, but here we are!
I’ve still got a very long way to go — 26.2 miles to be exact — and considering I wouldn’t class myself as a runner, there’s going to be plenty of work to do between now and April.
