Why World Cancer Research Fund?

Every day around 1,100 people will hear the words ‘you have cancer’. Over 420 of these cases could have been prevented, that’s a staggering 155,000 people every year. World Cancer Research Fund, are passionate about reducing this number.

As part of an international network of charities, they’ve been funding life-saving research, influencing global health policy and informing the public since 1982.

While society continues to search for a cure, their prevention and survival work helps people to live longer, healthier, and happier lives – free from the devastating effects of cancer. The money I'm raising plays a huge part in keeping this going.

London Marathon 2027

Tuesday 14th Jul

In April 2027, I'll be taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life by running the London Marathon in support of World Cancer Research Fund.

If you'd told me a few years ago that I'd be running marathons, I would never have believed you. Back then, my life looked very different. I wasn't looking after myself, and I never imagined running would become such a huge part of who I am. Since then, I've made some life-changing decisions, losing weight, improving my health, and finding a passion that has completely changed my outlook on life.

Running has taught me discipline, resilience, and that we're capable of so much more than we think. Every early morning, every training session, and every tough run has helped shape the person I am today. It's not always easy, but that's what makes every achievement so rewarding.

I'm proud to be running the London Marathon for World Cancer Research Fund because cancer has touched the lives of so many people. The charity carries out vital research and helps people understand how healthier lifestyles can reduce cancer risk, while continuing to support important work that could save lives in the future.

Over the coming months, I'll be putting in countless miles to prepare for race day. There will be highs and lows, but knowing that I'm running for something much bigger than myself will keep me going every step of the way.

If you're able to support me with a donation, no matter how big or small, I'd be incredibly grateful. Your generosity will help fund life-changing research and give me that extra motivation when the training gets tough and during all 26.2 miles through the streets of London.

Thank you for believing in me, supporting my journey, and helping me support such an incredible cause. It truly means more than words can say.
