My motivation and Why World Cancer Research Fund

Hi All

As most of you will know, my dad passed away 12 years ago now, after getting cancer. He was young at the time, just 58. Obviously, that had a toll on my family and me and it will always feel like there is someone missing.

I have wanted to do something in his memory for a while, and now feels like the right time to do that. My dad was a sporty individual, playing a lot of football in his younger years and then playing a lot of tennis and running. I always remember him getting up at about 5 am before work to go on a run. So a run felt like the right thing to do - and not any run - the London Marathon!

So, for my dad and for the fight against a disease that still takes far too many people early, please donate.

As part of an international network of charities, they’ve been funding life-saving research, influencing global health policy and informing the public since 1982.

While society continues to search for a cure, their prevention and survival work helps people to live longer, healthier, and happier lives – free from the devastating effects of cancer. The money I'm raising plays a huge part in keeping this going.
