Why I'm Running For World Cancer Research Fund?
Simply...
MY NAN AND GANK!
My nan has battled lymphoma twice, and my gank is currently living with prostate cancer. It's not been easy and we're very proud of how they've kept on fighting.
Seeing people close to me go through diagnoses, treatment, and all the uncertainty that comes with it has shown me how much cancer can affect everyday life. That's why supporting the work of World Cancer Research Fund means so much to me and all the family. It means a lot knowing there are people dedicated to researching cancers, improving outcomes, and helping future generations avoid the experiences that so many families face today.
Every day, around 1,100 people hear the words "you have cancer". What's even more shocking is that over 420 of those cases could potentially have been prevented, which adds up to around 155,000 people every year.
When I look beyond my own family, it really highlights how widespread cancer is. My girlfriend's parents are also both living with cancer, which just shows how many people this disease impacts. Most of us know someone who has been affected by cancer.
Since 1982, World Cancer Research Fund has been funding life-saving research, helping shape global health policy, and providing information to help people make healthier choices. While the search for a cure continues, their work also focuses on prevention and helping people live longer, healthier lives after a diagnosis.
The money I'm raising will help support that work, and that's why this cause is so important to me. Thank you to everyone who is supporting me and donating along the way. It really does mean a lot. ❤️
