Why am I running the London Marathon?

I would like to take a very sad and painful time in my life and make it a little brighter.

I’ve always wanted to run the London Marathon and now I have the cause and charity worth running for. Losing my mum to cancer in December 2024 was absolutely devastating and so I would like to do something positive in her memory in the hope it might mean others don’t have to go through the same heartbreak.

When undergoing her treatment, mum had surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, all of which she undertook with great strength and courage. Unfortunately, these treatments weren’t enough. I am hoping to raise monies to either improve on the existing treatments there are or to find new ways in the fight against cancer in the hope that it improves the overall success rate.

Although I am still not really in a place to be able to talk about her passing, being able to raise money and run in her memory is the start.

Thank you for any donations, it truly does mean the world to me.

Why World Cancer Research Fund?

Every day around 1,100 people will hear the words ‘you have cancer’. Over 420 of these cases could have been prevented, that’s a staggering 155,000 people every year. World Cancer Research Fund, are passionate about reducing this number.

As part of an international network of charities, they’ve been funding life-saving research, influencing global health policy and informing the public since 1982.

While society continues to search for a cure, their prevention and survival work helps people to live longer, healthier, and happier lives – free from the devastating effects of cancer. The money I'm raising plays a huge part in keeping this going.
